Pro Se Buddy by House of Biz & Company · Staging draft, effective on publication

1. What this is

Pro Se Buddy gives general legal information and organizing tools about Illinois court procedure. It is not a law firm. It is not a lawyer and does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or opinions about any person's specific situation. Using it does not create an attorney-client relationship.

2. Your responsibility

You are responsible for everything you file or rely on. The Illinois Supreme Court's AI policy holds people who use AI tools accountable for their final work product. Check every deadline, rule, statute, form, and case against the official source, your court's local rules, and the circuit clerk.

3. Deadlines are estimates

The calculator applies 5 ILCS 70/1.11 and statutory holidays to the dates you enter. It can't know about court closures, court orders, service problems, extensions, or exceptions. Missing a deadline can have serious consequences. Confirm with the clerk.

4. Case-law research

Opinions come from CourtListener (Free Law Project) and official sources. We show a citation only if it came back from those sources. Summaries and learning cards quote the opinion and may leave out important context. A case being shown, or not flagged, does not mean it is still good law or applies to you. We do not predict outcomes or suggest arguments.

5. No warranties

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. House of Biz & Company is not liable for losses from use of, or reliance on, the service, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

6. Acceptable use

Don't submit other people's personal information, abuse rate limits, or use the service to mislead a court.
